Google's Audio and Video AI
Not what I was hoping for.
If you visit https://aistudio.google.com/live, you can try out the Goog’s new multimodal chat application. You can talk to it, you can share your screen. Wow!
Unfortunately, Wow quickly becomes What the Feck?

What stuns me is not only does it read the code out, poorly at times, but it only randomly makes a lame attempt to display the code, which it seems to do by creating a phonetic transcription of what is being said.
I’m sure it will get better and, yes, it’s experimental. But I bet you the demos they give are flawless, whereas literally the first thing I tried with it was a complete failure…
Of course, all of AI is not a failure. You might not have thought of this, but as of the publish date of this article (2025-01-03), it is six weeks until Valentine’s Day. Since I’m going to be asked what I want, and my answer is usually an inadequate “I don’t know”, I asked ChatGPT to help an AI developer out:
OK, kind of weird and very wrong in places, but it managed to at least make a mélange of things it thinks it knows about me. And I do appreciate it trying to upsell me on AI art…
